Plagiarism Policy
Introduction
The Center for Management Science Research (CMSR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and research ethics. This policy defines plagiarism and outlines the procedures for identifying and addressing plagiarism in research submitted to CMSR publications, conferences, and other activities.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting the work of others as one's own without proper attribution. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying verbatim text, data, or ideas from another source without citation.
- Paraphrasing or summarizing the work of others without proper citation.
- Failing to give credit to the original source of an idea, even if it is not directly quoted.
- Self-plagiarism, which is reusing one's own previously published work without proper citation.
Responsibilities
- Authors: Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for properly citing all sources used.
- Reviewers: Reviewers are responsible for identifying and reporting any potential cases of plagiarism in submitted work.
- CMSR Editorial Board: The CMSR Editorial Board is responsible for investigating and making decisions regarding cases of plagiarism.
Procedures
- Identification of Plagiarism: Plagiarism may be identified through various methods, including plagiarism detection software, reviewer reports, and reader feedback.
- Investigation: If plagiarism is suspected, the CMSR Editorial Board will conduct an investigation to determine the extent and severity of the plagiarism. The author(s) will be informed of the allegations and given an opportunity to respond.
- Decision-Making: Based on the investigation, the CMSR Editorial Board will make a decision regarding the appropriate action. This may include:
- Rejecting the submission
- Requiring the author(s) to revise the work and address the plagiarism
- Retracting the published work
- Publishing a correction or erratum
- Reporting the case to the author(s)' institution or funding agency
