Waiver-Eligibility
Introduction
The Center for Management Science Research (CMSR) recognizes that exceptional circumstances may prevent some individuals from meeting the standard eligibility criteria for its programs and opportunities. To address these situations, CMSR offers a limited waiver program for qualified applicants. This policy outlines the eligibility criteria and procedures for requesting a waiver.
General Eligibility
To be considered for a waiver, applicants must:
- Demonstrate a strong academic record and/or relevant professional experience in management science or a closely related field.
- Clearly articulate the specific requirement(s) they are seeking a waiver for and the reasons why they are unable to meet the standard criteria.
- Provide compelling evidence to support their request, such as documentation of extenuating circumstances or exceptional achievements.
- Be in good academic and/or professional standing.
Waiverable Requirements
The following requirements may be considered for waiver, depending on the specific circumstances and at the discretion of CMSR:
- Minimum GPA: Waivers may be granted for applicants whose GPA falls slightly below the minimum requirement due to extenuating circumstances, such as documented medical issues or family emergencies.
- Standardized Test Scores: Waivers may be granted for applicants who have not taken or scored well on standardized tests, such as the GMAT or GRE, if they can demonstrate strong academic or professional qualifications in other ways.
- Work Experience: Waivers may be granted for applicants who lack the minimum required work experience if they have relevant academic coursework, research experience, or other professional qualifications.
- Other Program Requirements: In rare cases, CMSR may consider waiving other program requirements based on exceptional circumstances.
